World Satellite Business Week in Paris – Big event for the 25th anniversary
Last week, the 25th World Satellite Business Week was held in Paris from September 12-16, 2022. The event took place at the Westin Paris - Vendôme Hotel, which is located near the Louvre Museum and Place de la Concorde in the heart of Paris history and culture. Since 1997, WSBW has become a meeting point for decision makers, partners, and customers, covering every aspect of the satellite value chain. Thus, the WSBW connects experts from the global satellite and space industry – and after a two-year break from Corona, the WSBW could once again take place in person.
Our CEO David Schmitz represented G&S at the event, where he had the opportunity to engage in exciting discussions and interactions with the satellite industry community. He was able to meet with industry colleagues face to face. We are happy about the new contacts and the resulting interesting projects.
The satellite industry is in transition, and the event provided an opportunity for decision makers and exeperts to evaluate and discuss strategies. It was noticeable that satellite operators, service providers, but also end users increasingly regard satellite communication as part of the critical infrastructure, which is irreplaceable, especially in crisis. While in the past the focus of development was on technologies, it has now shifted to concrete applications and system solutions that reach the end users directly. A noticeable trend is the entry of various companies into the broadband market via satellite deployment in low earth orbit. This is seen as a crucial source of growth for the industry.
The event showed that G&S SatCom GmbH and its unique product G&S SatConnect® have established themselves in the large market of the satellite industry. The continuous development of the software addresses the needs of the satellite industry and continues to be relevant even in the face of potential market changes. During the entire development cycle, from initial idea to final deliver, user experience and simplicity are the core of the Enterprise Network Management System. We would like to thank everyone for the interesting exchange at the WSBW in Paris, which gave us new impulses for our daily work in software development. Furthermore, we are excited to see our customers and partners again next year at the WSBW.
